HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Bagong Lote Elementary School is in the northwest part of Barangay Potrero which is like any other old and established place had its share of historical and glorious past. Bagong Lote, because of its proximity to Balintawak used to be a sanctuary of the Katipuneros.

In 1959, five years later after Potrero Elementary School was built, this school started as annex with two classrooms to cater the needs of the children ready for grade one in that newly developed part of the barangay, that’s why it was called Bagong Lote meaning “new lots”. Although at first it was named as “Tangke Annex” derived from the word tank because it turned to be a complete elementary school. This was all through the initiative of the first Barangay Captain of Potrero, the late, the late, Mr. Dominador T. Rivera.

Along with its expansion program, it occupied rented buildings in the community which used to be of substandard sizes. But due to termination of contracts with the owners of these buildings, the school is now housed in a two-storey ten classroom and adjacent buildings. The school has very limited space being sandwiched by other commercial establishments around.
